#MarketingTipMonday No. 60

Be flexible around holidays when deploying your metered communication plans.

You may have come to expect a Marketing Tip Monday from me each week, but would you notice if I didn’t post today (Memorial Day)?

Likely not.

It’s true that planning marketing outreach at specific intervals makes it more likely that you’ll meet your outreach goals.

But sometimes, it just isn’t a good day to reach out. And it’s ok to adjust accordingly.

For example, many folks take entire 4-day work weeks off during the summer (Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day). Is it really worth sending out that B2B email because it “has to go on the first of the month” knowing that you’re going to get more out-of-office responses and less engagement? Better yet, don’t pick a date near the beginning of the month for your newsletter.

No.

Let your calendar be your guide, not your dictator.
