#MarketingTipMonday No. 67

Today’s #MarketingTipMonday is inspired by my new favorite hobby — Revel Nail.

In case you aren’t familiar with their product, companies like Revel Nail make it possible to get a salon quality manicure at home (and for a fraction of the price).

No surprise: they have many, many competitors with similar product offerings.

So why did I choose to purchase through Revel Nail instead of the other companies?

Because my sister-in-law uses their product and told me that they have great customer service if anything arrives damaged or doesn’t work as one would expect.

This reputation for great customer service resounds through their reviews and customer groups.

Here’s the point: You can create memorable marketing campaigns and have an unique lineup of products and that still isn’t enough for your business to grow and your marketing campaigns to succeed.

Those most effective thing you can do for your company is to delight your customers so they continue to do business with you AND refer you to their connections.

Best of all, a great brand reputation is the foundation for effective marketing.

Coke has great marketing in part because they have a great brand, not in spite of it. It’s unlikely that you would consider a company to have effective marketing if you had a bad impression of their product, customer service, or brand (think BP after the oil spill in 2010).
