#MarketingTipMonday No. 58

It’s conference season!

Whether your company has a packed summer itinerary or you’re maximizing your efforts at one industry event, this tip will help you make the most of your investment:

Network outside of the exhibit hall to generate more leads and build deeper connections.

I know, I know. It’s easy to set up camp in your 10′ x 10′ booth and awkwardly smile at people trying to avoid your eye contact. Plus, then you can get your “real” work done while the attendees are in sessions!

But you’ve invested your time and money to be at this trade show. Make the most of it by:

🍻 Attending happy hours or meals and talking to people you don’t know. Think of it like your favorite childhood camp – you already have something in common with everyone there. You’re at the same event!

📝 Sitting in on sessions most closely related to what your business does. You already know that everyone in the room a pinpoint that you can solve! Talk to the people sitting nearby. If the speaker does a great job, introduce yourself and invite them to join you for a podcast or webinar.

Any company can buy pretty booth backdrops or give away pens. Stand out in a crowded event by getting out from behind the booth!
