If you’re creating video content for your social media page or websites, this tip will help:
Record a two second count at the beginning and end of each segment where you’re looking at the camera (and smiling would be nice 😃).
These brief pauses at the beginning and end of your recorded segments may not seem like much, but they make it 1000x easier to:
- Trim the video
- Add intro/outro content
- Place transitions between the segments.
Does the silence make you squirmy? Don’t worry. Pausing seems longer and more awkward to the presenter than to the listener. A little bit of breathing room not only makes the technical editing easier, but gives your audience a moment to digest your message too!
